It's used by BF2CC, but the author reports that PB output is not returned
to Python so one can't tell if a PB command is actually successful. Score
another point in EA's screwing of server admins and instead focusing on eye
candy.

The author also reports that other issues that adversely affect rcon and
the remote manager won't be addressed by the 1.03 patch. For instance, I'm
betting we won't see the ability to change the password on the fly, a
feature needed for reserved slots. (They claim to be implementing reserved
slots, but who knows what they'll come up with.) We probably also won't see
a reliable way to "kill" players from rcon, which is needed for reliable
team switching. (If you kill a player in a vehicle, you risk crashing the
server or turning the player into an undead zombie.) Then there's less
critical capabilities like being able to move a player to and from a squad
or the commander position, and creating squads, which would all be nice for
fast tournament switching and for switching everyone's sides for each round
while maintaining squad structure.
