email addresses should be filtered _for sure_. There's enough places for
spammers to harvest from (join our list even), why make it easier? Even
could use a tiny javascript or something to still show the email addresses,
but keep it in a format that isn't readable by a text parser (like the auth
code string images on every site these days).

I think it's a fine idea!  I don't have any problem with stuff being
posted via Gmane, but would be very concerned about email addresses
being kept hidden.  I get enough spam already, thank you.  If there's an
option to keep email addresses inacessible to viewers of the list, that
would be the way to go.
