Any objection to listing this list with Gmane? Ryan Gordon just listed the 
bf1942 list there:

<http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.games.fps.bf1942>

The advantage is a separate, searchable archive and the ability to read via 
newsreader tools.

Items to be decided: Should addresses be encrypted? Should spam be checked 
and tagged? For users viewing the list through Gmane (eg. by newsreader), 
should posting be a) allowed by anyone, b) allowed only from list members, 
or c) no posting through Gmane, only by email to the list address?
